Cornerstone Coffee Bar

Cornerstone

Our community coffee bar in the heart of Denton Holme is open Mon, Tue, Wed and Friday 9am to 4pm. Saturdays 10am and 1pm and Thursdays 10am to 1pm (Renew wellbeing cafe) and 3:15pm to 4:30pm (after school drop-in)

The coffee bar stocks a variety of hot drinks, including teas, coffees and hot chocolate, as well as a variety of Soft Drinks and snacks. Our prices are affordable with filtered coffee costing just 50p!

We run a ‘Pay it forward’ scheme where customers can purchase a drink for someone else who could not afford one.

As well as keeping the community caffeinated, the coffee bar has it’s own community of regulars who have found a place to belong, support each other and live life. The coffee bar and it’s meeting rooms also host groups and some of the community events we are involved in.

Cornerstone is now trialling the sale of pre-packed sandwiches.

OpShop

OpShop Shelves

OpShop stocks a wide variety of pre-loved items, including clothes, bric-a-brac and electrical items.

OpShop is Open Monday -Friday 9am-4pm, Saturdays 10am to 1pm.

All proceeds go to support the running costs of Cornerstone and allow us to host free activities and events.

OpShop has been part of the Denton Holme community for over 30 years. Initially opened purely to raise funds for the building of the Parish Centre, and subsequently so that as a church we have been able to employ various staff members, it has over the last 15 years or so become so much more. There is currently three-fold purpose to the Op Shop:

OpShop raises funds which help to to support the community work we do in Cornerstone.
OpShop supports the community directly. We sell good quality items that are priced so our community can afford them.  We work with and support a number of “dealers” who come in and buy a variety of items, that they feel they may be able to buy cheaply and sell elsewhere as a profit. This provides an income or job for local people.
OpShop also provides a place where people belong, and can find a friendly, familiar face. OpShop meets many people who might visit both the Shop and Cornerstone, but it also has it’s own “regulars” who find it an important part of their community and daily life.

We can accept donations of clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, pictures, bedding and electrical items. We are unable to accept bulky furniture and microwaves.
