About Us

Cornerstone is a community coffee bar in Denton Holme, run by a team of over 40 volunteers. Our aim is to provide a safe accessible space to support those who live, work and visit Denton Holme.

Run by St James church, Cornerstone was built on the ethos of the St James Opportunity Shop that first opened in Denton Holme in the early 1990s. Starting off as a charity shop to help support the redevelopment of the church hall, the shop started to become more of a community. The church recognised the significance of this and after various options Cornerstone was opened in September 2012.

Working with volunteers and local organisations, from our open airy coffee bar, we provide a wide range of services, support (both officially and through relationships) and activities to those who live in and love Denton Holme!

Recently we have expanded the range of drinks and cakes that we sell. This includes milkshakes, Flat White coffee and during the summer we sell a range of iced drinks.

We also run a range of evening events from open mic nights to movie and sing-a-long nights.

What do we do

Our aim is to love the community in which we live, work and enjoy being part of.

We do this through meeting people, chatting over a coffee, providing support sessions and working with other organisations to make sure Denton Holme has access to the help, support and services it needs.
